GCH Craftsman Grill Dining Review

The grand opening of GCH Craftsman Grill at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa took place this week and we had to try it first hand! This new cozy spot offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner dishes including artisanal pizzas, specialty bowls, fish tacos, handcrafted sandwiches, and fantastic drinks.

The new bar and grill offerers signature cocktails including seasonal drink specialties. We tried them all. The Professor doesn’t mess around when it comes to testing drinks for the sake of research! Featured here is the Lavendar Spritz, Vanilla Mango Mule, Banana Daiquiri, and Passion Fruit Mojito.

From Left to Right: Pineapple Ginger Margarita, Gran Mai Tai, and Coconut Fruit

The menu is what we would call “deluxe bar food.” Labeled as “Lounge Food,” the menu consists of appetizers you may find in a high-end restaurant.

We opted to try a little of everything but started with the Maine Lobster Quesadilla: Flour Tortilla, Jack, Queso Fresco, Caramelized Onions, Roasted Corn Relish, Sour Cream, and spicy Mayo all for $23.00. It was cooked perfectly with the shell crispy and interior full of flavor! Each bite had ample lobster and the spicy mayo was just enough added zing to keep you wanting more.

Following the quesadillas, we ordered the Cali Sliders: American Wagyu Patty, Oven-roasted Tomato, Vegetable Relish, Spiced Hollandaise, Swiss, Artichoke Aïoli, and Pickled Vegetables for $21. These little bites were moist, flavorful, and perfectly paired with our cocktails!

There is NOTHING like a chicken wing when you go to the bar and have some drinks. The Garlic-Soy-glazed Chicken Wings tasted a little like spicy fried chicken. Seasoned with Fresno Chile, Togarashi Spice, Furikake, Parsley, Carrot, and Celery Ribbons for $16.00.

Saving the best for last, we ordered the Waffle-Churro Sundae. Vanilla Ice Cream, Chocolate Sauce, Caramel Sauce, Chantilly Cream, and Chocolate Pearls for $12.00. Every bite was fantastic.

GCH Craftsman Grill has a superb menu including artisanal pizzas, specialty bowls and sustainable fish tacos to handcrafted sandwiches, skewers and an array of grab ‘n’ go options, to name a few. There is also something for the kiddos! An assortment of non-alcoholic beverages and Disney Check meals for kids are also on the menu!
