Loews Portofino Bay Resort is one of Universal Orlando Resort’s Premier Hotels.  The resort has an air of Italian elegance which was inspired by the beauty, charm, and romance of the seaside village of Portofino, Italy. Guests are transported to Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure via complimentary buses and water taxis. Transportation to Volcano Bay is available by bus.

Guests can enjoy 3 themed pools when staying here. The Beach Pool has a Roman aqueduct themed water slide. The Villa Pool is a serene adult-themed option which offers private cabana rentals. The Hillside Pool is secluded and located in the east wing.

Loews Portofino Bay Hotel offers additional recreation amenities besides pools. Guests wishing to relax will want to visit Mandara Spa, the 12,300 sq. ft. full-service spa. There is a complimentary fitness center for hotel guests that includes cardiovascular and weight training equipment, lockers, shower and changing facilities. The Musica Della Notte is a musical celebration featuring live opera singers that capture the romance and charm of Italy occurs nightly, weather permitting.

There are 750 rooms, including 45 suites, that are offered at Loews Portofino Bay Resort.  The room categories available include:

  • Garden & Bay View Rooms – This room category is approximately 450 sq. ft and offer 1 King bed or 2 Queen beds.  The King Bed option sleeps up to 3 guests and the 2 Queen bed option sleeps up to 5 guests.
  • Deluxe Rooms – This room category is approximately 490 sq. ft. and offer 1 King bed or 2 Queen beds. The King Bed option sleeps up to 3 guests and the 2 Queen bed option sleeps up to 5 guests.  There are some Club Level rooms available in this category.
  • Portofino Parlor Suite – This room category is approximately 450 sq. ft.  The Parlor connects to either a King or Double Queen Garden or Bay View Room.  There is also the option of connecting to an additional Garden or Bay View room.  This category sleeps up to 7 guests.
  • Villa Parlor Suites – This room category is approximately 620 sq. ft. The Parlor connects to either a King or Double Queen Deluxe Room.  There is also the option of connecting to an additional Deluxe Room. This category sleeps up to 7 guests.

  • Despicable Me Kids’ Suite – This room category is approximately 650 sq. ft.  This room category contains a Standard King bedroom for the adults which connects to a separate bedroom for the kids.  The children’s room only opens to the adult room. This category sleeps up to 5 guests, however only a maximum of 3 adults can sleep here.
  • Hospitality Parlor Suites – This room category is approximately 920 sq. ft. The Parlor connects to either a King or Double Queen Garden View Room.  There is also the option of connecting to an additional Garden View Room. This category sleeps up to 8 guests.
  • Govenatore Suite – This room category is approximately 2265 sq. ft. and contain one King Bed. There is the option of additional Double Queen Deluxe Room with Club Level Access. This category sleeps up to 2 guests.
  • Presidente Suite – This room category is approximately 2725 sq. ft. It contains an outdoor terrace with seating for 6 and a King bed.  Guests staying in this category have the option of adding up to 3 additional connecting Deluxe Rooms with Club Level Access if desired.  This category sleeps up to 2 guests.

Club Level Access includes complimentary continental breakfast, evening hors d’oeuvres, beer & wine, desserts, reduced cabana prices and more.

A number of dining options are offered at this resort including Mama Dellas’ Ristorante, Bice Ristorante, Gelateria, Trattoria del Porto, and Sal’s Market Deli.  Starbucks can be found here as well and 24-hour room service is also available.
