Review: B Resort and Spa at Disney Springs

This week we had the pleasure of being hosted at the B Resort and Spa, an ‘Official Disney Springs’ resort area hotel. The resort features 394-newly renovated guest rooms and suites and is walking distance from the Disney Springs shopping district.

The first thing I noticed as I pulled up to the resort in my Lyft was the clean and smooth exterior of the resort with a huge blue “B” on the tower against the clean white paint.

As I exited the car I was met by two very friendly bellmen that offered to take my bags and help me to the front desk to check in. There is a cute seating area right outside the lobby entrance to relax while you are waiting for your car.

A benefit of staying at an “Official Disney Springs Resort” is the free bussing to Disney parks! I took advantage of this the whole time I was at the resort. They run a little slower than regular Disney transportation but are a huge savings in comparison the other off property resorts where you may have to rent a car or use a ride share option.

A beautiful blue back lit water feature is the first thing you notice as you walk in that has the signature “B” with the water falling around it. There are two front desk areas as well as two concierge desks for guest. I was able to get checked in as soon as I arrived, but as my room wasn’t quite ready. I decided to leave my bag with Bell Services and investigate the resort a little.

There is a pop culture or eclectic art vibe throughout the whole lobby and seating area. A fun “royal” captains style chair, that is a work of art itself, is one of the focal pieces to the lobby seating. Off to the right of the lobby is more seating with lounge style couches and two TV’s playing an assortment of Disney and Nick Jr. for guests as they relax waiting for their ride or for their room to be ready.

To the left of the lobby is a small official Disney store that holds a basic supply of Disney items and merchandise. There are snacks, drinks, toiletries, swim suits, towels, shirts, hats, and more. This is great for someone that wants to get a few items before they venture off to the parks. Disney Springs has the best shopping at Walt Disney World so if you are looking for a larger selection, I would venture there.

There is also a place to purchase park tickets inside the store but we suggest going through a travel agent to book your package. Our friends at Key to the World Travel book stays at the B Resort and all off-property resorts at Walt Disney World.

Located in the lobby area of the B Resort and Spa is the American Kitchen Bar and Grill. Unlike the modern vibe of the lobby and the rest of the resort, the American Kitchen Bar and Grill has a rustic “Americana” vibe offering farm-to-table bites and local sustainable product whenever possible.

You can sit community style or in a booth/table with just your party. The menu is “New American Fusion Cuisine” including starters like Tempura Avocado or Spoon Bread Skillet or one of the dry aged certified Angus beef steaks offered. Their BBQ menu is quite extensive as well. Every morning they offer a “Farmers Endless Truck Buffet” which offers build your own omelet, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, smoked salmon, French toast, Mickey Waffles, and so much more!

Feeling like an adult beverage? The bar at the American Kitchen is a fun and chill atmosphere to meet new people or bring your group to have a nightcap after a long day of park hopping!

Being a mom of three, I loved some of the “on-location” entertainment options for families. In the courtyard at the rear of the resort is a “Kid Zone” or arcade with lots of fund games for kids to keep busy with. It is located right by the pool and the pool bar so you are able to let the kids go play while you relax and get some sun.

Another really great feature is “The Pickup,” a walk up window to order ice cream, snacks, or drinks. It’s located right outside of the pool so you can send the kids to get a snack and see them the whole time from the pool.

There is an outdoor courtyard which has a life-size chess set, foosball, and giant Connect 4 Game for guests as well. There is also additional lounge seating here for relaxing in the sun.

I wasn’t able to visit but the “B Indulged” Aveda Spa is being reimagined and will open this fall to resort guests. From the window peeking I did, you can see a beautiful spa inside. The B Resort is a highly sought after wedding location and the spa is the perfect place to get ready for your big day! Plus, who doesn’t love Aveda spa products.

Saving the absolute best for last… my room! I was put on the 16th floor in a “Captivating King” room with a gorgeous view! My first thoughts as I exited the elevator on the 16th floor was that I was in a very luxurious or ‘deluxe’ level resort for those who speak Disney.

Once I opened my door to my room I was not disappointed. The room was very spacious and had a fantastic layout. The color pallet was blues, grey, white, with a few other colors popped here or there. The best was soft and next to it was a deceivingly comfortable full-size couch that had a high back and pulled out to a bed. I sat down on it for a moment to rest and write. I found myself drifting off to sleep and decided to get up and work from the desk in the room instead!

The only downside I see to the room would be that the work space is small and I would have liked more of a desk area while I was there. The chair was also very uncomfortable and felt like a kitchen chair. But, you’re on vacation and not supposed to be working anyway!

There is a Keurig in the room as well as complimentary water bottles for guests to use. The bathroom was a typical hotel bathroom until you see the shower. It is the largest shower I have ever seen in any resort. You could easily fit an entire family in there with room to spare. The B Resort supplies Aveda Spa products to their guests and I personally love the botanical smells and properties of the products. This was a huge perk to me! The shower head had a perfect waterfall stream and after using the Aveda products the shower steamed up and it gave you a beautiful spa like feel.

My final thoughts on the B Resort and Spa are this: I would stay here again in a heart beat! The staff was incredibly friendly, the food was exquisite, the room absolutely gorgeous! Better yet, the price can’t be beat!
