Tusker House At a Glance

| | |

Tusker House is a Character Dining Table Service restaurant located in the Africa section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This location serves a buffet featuring a mix of American and African flavors for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All meals feature Donald’s Dining Safari with appearances from Donald Duck and friends all dressed up and ready for a safari. The all-you-care-to-eat menu combined with fun character interactions and Animal Kingdom’s high level of detailed theming make this one of the best choices for a fun meal at the park.

Tusker House is on the edge of the colorful Harambe Marketplace which is designed to resemble the open-air shopping and dining areas of Africa during the 1960s. Both the restaurant and the marketplace are decorated with artifacts and interesting discoveries that fictional travelers have unearthed during their adventures. The restaurant features large seating areas as well as an open buffet serving room adorned with colorful textiles and lined with porches meant to make guests feel as if they are dining outdoors.

Tusker House serves a crowd-pleasing buffet of African and American cuisine for a set price at all three meals. At breakfast, guests can enjoy classic morning dishes like pastries, eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, potatoes, and even Lion King-themed waffles. Beverages like coffee, juice, and sodas are also included. For lunch and dinner, the menu offerings include dishes like roasted pork, salmon, fruit chutney, and curry chicken. Kids’ items include mac and cheese, corn dog nuggets and mashed potatoes. Guests can also enjoy a selection of fresh bread and pita as well as desserts and included non-alcoholic drinks. Guests wishing to add an adult beverage to their meal can choose from a selection of exotic specialty cocktails like the African Margarita or the Sugar Cane Mojito. Draft and bottled beer are also available.

Tusker House features Donald’s Dining Safari. The plucky duck has invited guests to join him and some of his classic Disney friends to enjoy a meal while snapping photos and grabbing autographs. Although the lineup is subject to change, guests can look forward to interactions with the likes of Donald, Mickey, Daisy, and Goofy. As with all Character Dining experiences at Walt Disney World, each character makes sure to visit every table at least once and spends a little time making guests laugh while enjoying their meal. This experience is unique for the fun safari costumes the characters wear as well as the adventure theme of the dining location.

As with all Table Service locations at Walt Disney World, advance reservations are accepted beginning at 180 days prior to arrival and are strongly recommended. A credit card is required for your reservation and a $10 per person no-show fee will be charged if you don’t show up or cancel at least 24 hours prior. Tusker House is eligible for some Disney Dining Plans and requires 1 Table Service dining credit per person. Guests may also take advantage of a special dining package for Rivers of Light featuring a meal at Tusker House and a special dedicated seating area for the show.
