Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! Dessert Party Review

You have a lot of options when it comes to after-hours events, dessert parties, and other special ticketed events at Walt Disney World. It is often hard to narrow down to which is worth the value, and which may be something to skip. This weekend we went to the very first Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! Dessert Party at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I have personally been to several different dessert parties at the park and aside from the great fireworks viewing, didn’t see a huge value.

The Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! Dessert Party has completely changed my mind. The dessert party is held all holiday season on most nights beginning at 7:30 pm beginning on November 8th and running through January 5th. The theme of the party is just like the projection show at the theatre. The Prep and Landing Crew are featured all over the buffets. It’s held in the Chinese Theatre Courtyard where you can enjoy an array of holiday-themed snacks, decadent desserts, beer, wine, and specialty alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. After-tax one ticket costs $89 and does not include park admission. If you have an Annual Pass you are eligible for a discount. Before you scoff at the price, here’s why I would do it again in a heartbeat.

To begin the night we went to a check-in area by Echo Lake. You can see signs all over leading you where to go. The seating is along the lake in front of Gertie the Dinosaur. You are given a lanyard to wear with your table number and is also used to gain access to the party area. The party begins at 7:30 pm but we suggest you get there at 7:00 pm to check in because waiting any longer will create quite a line.

At 7:30 pm you are able to enter the seating area along the lake and find your table. They are marked with neon signs and have 3-D glasses on the table that allow you to see gifts on any light you look at. They are pretty cool, we brought them home for our kids.

Next up we walked around to discover just what was included in this dessert party. We were pleasantly surprised to find it was so much more than just your average desserts! There were two long matching buffet sections on either side of the bar(which is Gertie, they shut her down for the night and just serve alcohol there). Each buffet started with savory delights like hot pretzels, roasted onion dip, warm cheese fondue, spinach and artichoke dip with smoked sea salt flatbread to dip!

The next buffet was just the sweet stuff! In my opinion, this was better than any other dessert party line up. It wasn’t just chocolate-covered fruit although, you could make your own if you wanted to! When we approached the buffet our eyes got huge…the biggest problem was deciding where to start.

To say that there was too much to choose from would be an understatement. Disney chefs hit the mark at every turn with their selections.

  • Traditional Yule Log with Dark Chocolate Ganache
  • Caramel Apple Verrine
  • Assorted Cheesecake Bites
  • Pumpkin Spiced Bread Pudding with Cinnamon Vanilla
  • Hand Dipped Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
  • Holiday Blondie with Cream Cheese Icing
  • Assorted Cookies
  • Full Chocolate Fondue Bar

If that wasn’t enough they had a really delicious dessert: Liquid Nitrogen Frozen Chocolate Mousse! The process to create the dessert was incredible! Check out the video here:

Check out the final result! The texture was smooth and creamy like ice cream but much richer.

Generally, dessert parties do not include adult beverages. However, this one included many, many options for adults and children including a pretty substantial bar. The family beverage options included a create your own hot chocolate bar and “Elf Juice.” Adults are able to get holiday cocktails from Gerties like the Hot Chocolate Martini, Jinglebell Holiday Punch, and Gingerbread Martini. We had to try all of them, for research… The Gingerbread Martini had to be tried more than once… There was a pretty good range of options from wine, cocktails, and beer. One note, if you go right to the bar as you arrive you can skip the line. Not many people go right there. They are dazzled by the buffet!

There is also a pretty fun character interaction as part of the party! Chip n Dale are there and you are given a card with a time you are able to go up and get your photos with them! They are very playful and make it a fun time!

When the party has completed you are taken from the Echo Lake seating area and brought front and center for front row viewing of the Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! show. Make sure you grab a drink to take with you.

The Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! Dessert Party, in my opinion, was worth every penny! Make sure you make your reservations out as far as you can. They are a prepaid ticket and are selling out quickly.
