It’s the most wonderful time of the year at the Walt Disney World Resort! Colorful decorations are up, festive music is in the air, and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is back at the Magic Kingdom. On select nights in November and December, Mickey Mouse rolls out one of the best parties the resort has to offer. With special shows, unique character interactions, and holiday treats, it’s not hard to see why this party is a great way to ring in the Christmas season.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is an after-hours, separately ticketed event offering guests a full night of holiday fun. Party guests can enjoy a specially themed fireworks show and parade, character dance parties and meet and greets, complimentary hot chocolate and cookies, a selection of open rides and even snow on Main Street!
On party days, the Magic Kingdom will close around 6 pm, and only guests with party admission will be allowed in the park. Guests with party tickets, but no park admission, can get into the Magic Kingdom as early as 4 pm. Tickets run from $99 to $139 (before tax) for adults and $94 to $134 (before tax) for kids, depending on the date.

Many Magic Kingdom attractions are open during the Christmas party. While the party is definitely very popular with guests vacationing during the holidays, crowds tend to be lower than those during normal park hours. This means that lines for attractions are usually lower as well. This makes the party a great way to experience popular attractions multiple times. Please note that FastPass is not available during the party.
For 2019, four attractions are getting special holiday overlays exclusively for the party. Tomorrowland Speedway, Space Mountain, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor and Mad Tea Party will feature special Christmas lighting, music, and themes.

Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade
Easily one of the highlights of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is the special holiday-themed parade. This popular parade features a ton of characters with holiday-themed floats, music and a visit from Santa himself! The floats are impressive winter scenes with many classic Disney characters you don’t usually see in the parks. The parade is presented two times during the party at 8:30 pm and 11:00 pm. Since this parade is a must-do for many party guests, we recommend grabbing your viewing spot early. The second parade tends to have lower crowds, so we also suggest waiting for that one.
Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks
New for 2019, Minnie Mouse is sharing her love for the Christmas season with guests at her new castle show. The new show takes place at 10 pm on party nights at Cinderella Castle. Expanding on the projection mapping technology used in Happily Ever After, the yuletide spectacular features all-new light displays mixed with dazzlingly festive fireworks. As with the parade, this is a very popular party offering and we suggest getting a spot early. The . best views can be found around the castle hub, down Main Street or on the balcony at the Main Street train station.
Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration
Mickey and the gang are hosting a holiday celebration and inviting party guests to join the fun. Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration is a stage show featuring characters, classic holiday songs, dancing and holiday cheer. The show takes place at 7:40 pm, 9:25 pm, 10:30 pm and 11:55 pm at the stage in front of Cinderella Castle and runs roughly 20 minutes.
A Frozen Holiday Wish
This show officially kicks off the party with a visit from Anna, Elsa, Olaf and Kristoff from Frozen. Elsa helps to add to the festivities by using her special powers to light up Cinderella Castle. This show is relatively short and not to be missed for the dazzling display of 200,000 shimmering Christmas adorning the castle. The show takes place at 8:15 pm during the party.
A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas
Guests wishing to have an out-of-this-world Christmas can join friends like Stitch, Buzz Lightyear and Mike Wazowski for a futuristic holiday revue. This show features characters performing new versions of Christmas classics in their own styles. The show takes place on Tomorrowland’s Rocketower Plaza Stage at 7:45 pm, 8:35 pm, 9:25 pm, 10:45 pm, and 11:35 pm.
Club Tinsel & Disney Jr. Jingle Jam
Head over to Comic Ray’s Starlight Cafe to bust a move at a funky holiday dance party called Club Tinsel. A live DJ will be spinning danceable versions of favorite holiday songs and guests can get down with Santa’s elves, reindeer and friendly polar bears.
At Storybook Circus, little ones can cut a rug with their favorite Disney Junior stars like Fancy Nancy and Doc McStuffins at the Disney Jr. Jingle Jam. Both dance parties take place for the duration of the Christmas party.
Many guests love the party for the chance to meet and greet with favorite characters in holiday attire. Since the Christmas party is sometimes the only place to grab a photo in these special circumstances, lines can get rather long as the evening goes on. If meeting Santa or Jack Skellington is on your must-do list, we suggest getting in line as soon as the party starts.
