One of my favorite parts of a Walt Disney World vacation is the souvenirs and merchandise. I’m sure I’m not the only park guest that spends a hefty amount of personal income on the massive variety of clothing, toys, and collectibles offered throughout the resort. While “retail therapy” can be a great way to let loose on your vacation, the inevitable problem arises: “How am I going to carry this stuff around all day?” No one wants to have to lug all of their purchases from ride to ride, and there are quite a few items for sale that are just too big to throw in a backpack. Disney has you covered with its package pickup and delivery system. With the use of this service, you can shop until you drop and not have to worry about getting around with your purchases. Let’s take a look at the three options available for guests to have their purchases delivered or held for pickup.
Guests can have their theme park purchases delivered to a designated location near the front entrance for convenient pick-up as they exit the park. To take advantage of this complimentary service, guests will need to inform a retail Cast Member at the time of purchase. A short form with guest information will be filled out and used for pickup. The service usually requires a bit of time before pick up is available, and you will be notified of when your purchase will be available when arranging the service.
Souvenir Pick-up Locations
- Magic Kingdom: Main Street Chamber of Commerce
- Epcot: The Gift Shop (main entrance) and World Traveler (World Showcase entrance)
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Oscar’s Super Service
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom: Garden Gate Gifts
Resort Hotel Delivery
For guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, souvenirs from the parks and Disney Springs can be delivered to your hotel. As with the souvenir pickup at the parks, guests will need to inform a retail Cast Member at the time of purchase. A short form with guest information will be filled out and used for pickup. Your purchase will then be whisked away and magically appear at the gift shop in your hotel. Delivery usually happens the next day after purchase, but can sometimes take longer if delivery arrangements are made late in the day. So if it’s the last day of your visit, this option won’t work for you. You will be given an estimate of when your package will be available for pickup at the time of purchase.
You might panic when you realize that Disney Monorail model you just bought isn’t going to fit in any of your suitcases, but don’t worry, Disney’s third option for package delivery takes care of that. Disney theme park purchases can also be shipped to your home via UPS or FedEx for an additional fee. Shipping arrangments can be made at the time of purchase and the fee varies by size, weight, and carrier.
Now that you don’t have to worry about trekking through the parks with all of your souvenirs like an overpacked mule, what are you planning to buy?
