Universal Orlando Resort offers guests 8 unique onsite hotels with various themes and price points for almost any budget. Guests staying at one of these hotels have access to many perks that aren’t offered to those staying offsite. These perks range from early access to the parks to complimentary transportation and even free Express Pass line access for certain hotels. Let’s take a look at all of the benefits you can expect during your stay at Universal Orlando Resort.
Early Park Admission
Each day, Universal Orlando allows early entry into one of their parks for all onsite hotel guests. Usually, guests are allowed to experience The Wizarding World of Harry Potter attractions at either Universal Studios Florida or Universal’s Islands of Adventure one hour before the general public. This rule also sometimes applies to Universal’s Volcano Bay. Only one park is available for early entry each morning and rotates between the parks. This can be a great way to get a jump on your park touring, and experience a few of the resort’s most popular attractions before lines increase. Guests will need to show their hotel room key card to gain access to the attractions during this time. Those not staying onsite are held back until the official opening.
Once you’ve checked in to your Universal Orlando Resort hotel, you can give driving a break! All onsite Universal Orlando hotels offer complimentary transportation to and from the theme parks and CityWalk. Guests staying at all hotel levels can use free shuttle bus access. Those staying at Portofino Bay, Hard Rock, Royal Pacific, and Sapphire Falls have the added perk of using the resort’s water taxis to Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Islands of Adventure, and CityWalk. Not only can these complimentary transportation options save money on gas and parking fees, but they also help add to the relaxation of your vacation by allowing you to not worry about getting around and enjoy your stay.
Resort-Wide Charging Privileges
Guests of Universal Orlando Resort hotels have the ability to make purchases throughout the resort using their hotel room key card. Instead of lugging around your purse or wallet, almost all purchases at the parks, CityWalk, and hotels can be charged to your room account. Guests must register a credit card at check-in and specify a limit for charges.
Merchandise Delivery to Hotel
After you’ve wracked up all those purchases, the last thing you’ll want to do is carry them around with you. Luckily Universal also offers complimentary resort purchase delivery to all onsite hotels. Purchase delivery can be arranged at the time of purchase or you can bring already purchased items to most stores at the resort to set it up. Purchases will be delivered the next day between 9 AM and 4 PM. This means that if you are buying that coveted magic wand, but check out today or tomorrow, you’ll have to carry it with you. Guests staying at a Premier or Preferred resort will have their packages delivered straight to their room. Those staying at a Prime Value or Value resort will need to pick up their deliveries at their hotel’s front desk.
CityWalk Club Access
Universal’s CityWalk offers guests an area full of dining, shopping, and entertainment venues. Those staying at an onsite hotel get special “Club-to-Club” access to the area’s nightclubs. These clubs usually require a cover charge to enjoy. Onsite guests simply need to show their hotel room key card at any of CityWalk’s nightclubs to receive free entry for the length of their stay.
Each Universal Orlando Resort hotel has one or more pool areas available for guests to relax and splash during their vacation. These areas consist of pools, splash pads for kids, and recreational games like ping pong. Guests staying in a Premier, Preferred, or Prime Value hotel category are allowed to use all pool areas at Universal Orlando hotels. This perk does not apply to those staying in the Value resort category though, so guests staying at the Endless Summer Resort are allowed access to their pool areas only.
Free Unlimited Express Pass (Premier Hotels Only)
If you’re staying at Royal Pacific, Portofino Bay, or the Hard Rock Hotel, you get a couple of perks just for Premier level guests. The most exciting amenity is the inclusion of free Express Pass access to all eligible attractions for the length of your stay. This allows each guest to bypass the normal standby line for priority access to popular attractions, for as many times as they wish in a day. We highly recommend the use of Express Pass to streamline your touring and its inclusion makes a stay at a Premier hotel the ultimate Universal Orlando experience.
Restaurant Priority Seating (Premier Hotels Only)
Premier hotel guests also have the added benefit of priority seating at many restaurants in the resort. This perk can help those that are averse to planning their meals and making reservations months in advance. Guests will need to show their hotel room key card at the venue’s check-in area and will be able to “jump the line” for a table with minimal wait. This can come in quite handy on busier nights, especially at CityWalk restaurants.
