We’ve been eagerly awaiting the return of The Muppets to television screens since Disney+ announced last August that a new series would be coming to the streaming service. Yesterday, as part of National Streaming Day, Disney treated fans to the news that Muppets Now will be hitting Disney+ on July 31st!

Muppets Now is a new short-form series that will bring back classic Muppet characters like Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzy, Gonzo, and more. The first season will consist of 6 episodes and will feature The Muppets’ special brand of silly humor and hijinks as well as some celebrity appearances. During the first season: “Scooter rushes to make his delivery deadlines and upload the brand-new Muppet series for streaming. Turns out, the episodes are due now, and he’ll need to navigate whatever obstacles, distractions, and complications the rest of the Muppet gang throws at him.”
Kermit and Miss Piggy had their own thoughts on the key art that they shared in a reply to the announcement.
Good grief. Sorry about this, @DisneyPlus. Don’t worry, we love the #MuppetsNow key art! Though, if you’re looking for my suggestion, I was always partial to this one… I cleaned my banjo right before the photo was taken. pic.twitter.com/xZBlqDb777— Kermit the Frog (@KermitTheFrog) May 20, 2020
Things went a little off the rails when famous Muppet hecklers Statler and Waldorf gave their own suggestions for the show.
We can’t wait to check in with our favorite felt friends and see what the gang gets up to in this exciting new show. If we can’t take in a viewing of Muppet*Vision 3D at Disney’s Hollywood Studios right now, this is a nice consolation!
