The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is one of the biggest draws to the Universal Orlando Resort. This immersive land spans both theme parks and whether you love the series or not, it’s still worth the visit! If you are familiar with the series, either books or movies, there are little details throughout the land that make you love it even more!
From the thrilling attractions to the food and all of the details, it’s entirely possible to spend nearly a whole day exploring all of the wizardly things. Make sure you look at this insider’s guide for more tips but here are a few things that you won’t want to miss:
- Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts

Special Events and Experiences
This party is bound to make you feel like you are down in New Orleans right in the streets of Universal Studios! This coming year, the party is back and the parade has returned!
The Mardi Gras celebration features the well-known Mardi Gras parade with floats from New Orleans and beads…all of the beads! There is also live music with concerts on select nights, included with the price of admission. If you’re hungry, there are plenty of options at the food booths with diverse selections inspired by dishes from around the world.
Halloween Horror Nights
If you are looking for one of the premier Halloween events, look no further than Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights.
This is a separately ticketed event that takes place on select nights each fall at Universal Studios. Guests can enjoy haunted houses, scare zones, live entertainment, special merchandise, food and drink, and more! If you are looking for a fun time with plenty of frights and screams, this is the place to be. Please note, this event may be too intense for young children and is not recommended for children under the age of 13.
Holidays at Universal
The holiday season at Universal Orlando is always a magical experience! There is something fun for every age and it’s bound to bring a smile to your face. This year, Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s has returned! This beloved parade occurs each evening in Universal Studios and features some of your favorite characters and beautiful floats.
In the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the decor is up in Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley. Join in the celebration with the Frog Choir and then grab a hot Butterbeer as you enjoy the special nighttime show at Hogwarts Castle – The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts™ Castle!
Over at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, Grinchmas takes over Seuss Landing! The big green guy is ready with some snark and the Whos from Who-ville greet guests. There is a photo opportunity with the green meanie and plenty of music and fun at The Grinchmas™ Who-liday Spectacular.
At Universal Orlando, the thrills are everywhere! In my opinion, this is the place to find some of the best rollercoasters that are so unique. You won’t find anything else quite like them! Whether it’s riding through the Forbidden Forest on Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure or running with the velociraptors on the Jurassic World VelociCoaster, these attractions are sure to wow you!
These attractions vary in intensity too so if you love the thrills, but not all of them, there’s still something for you!
Universal Orlando Resort features MANY great restaurants and the food game is strong!
Walk into the Leaky Cauldron for a quick service meal but be sure to look up and see Harry’s room as you walk by. Maybe you want a nice meal to take a break from Florida heat. In that case, you may consider options inside the park such as Mythos Restaurant or Finnegan’s Bar & Grill.
If you want to explore the options at your resort hotel, there are some hidden gems too. The Kitchen at the Hard Rock Hotel Orlando has a great menu throughout the day but Sunday Brunch can’t be missed! The Amatista Cookhouse is a great choice at Loews Sapphire Falls Resort.
