The holiday season is in full swing at the Walt Disney World Resort and if you are visiting the parks, you may be looking to celebrate! If seeing Santa Claus is a part of that celebration, there are plenty of chances to catch the big guy in the red suit! This is your guide to finding Santa Claus at the Walt Disney World Resort.
The Magic Kingdom
At the Magic Kingdom, there are a few opportunities to spot Santa Claus.
During the day, guests can find him doing a socially distanced meet and greet in the Liberty Square Gazebo. There are Disney PhotoPass photographers at this location. Guests attending the Very Merriest After Hours event can also come to this location in the evenings. Keep in mind, this line may get quite long, so plan accordingly if this is a must-do for your day at the Magic Kingdom.
Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade has returned this year during the Disney Very Merriest After Hours Event. Santa Claus can be found waving to guests during this parade. If you are not planning to attend the event but will be at the Magic Kingdom, be sure to check the My Disney Experience mobile app. The parade will take place during the day from December 22 through December 31, 2021.
As you wander around the world at EPCOT during the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, there are plenty of opportunities to celebrate the holiday season. This includes learning about traditions from around the world, with performances in many of the pavilions throughout the World Showcase.
Santa Claus greets guests at the American Adventure Pavilion. Guests can pose for photos and share their holiday wishes during this socially distanced interaction. In France, stop by and meet Père Noël as he reads a child’s letter and details the holiday traditions in France. In China, watch the Chinese Lion Dance, which is a tradition meant to bring happiness for the Lunar New Year. Between the France and Morocco pavilions, stop by and listen to the Hanukkah Storyteller to explore the traditions of Hanukkah around the world, combining stories and music.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
There are two opportunities to see Santa Claus at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. First, the Sant Claus Merry Motorcade runs several times a day through Hollywood Studios. It starts near the entrance of the park and goes up Hollywood Boulevard. Santa Claus is joined by some friends too, including Pluto and some reindeer!
Then, oh gawrsh! If you head to Minnie’s Holiday Dine, Santa Goofy will be there to greet you!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Santa Claus floats along the Discovery River. Listen for the music to change and then be on the lookout for his festive flotilla. In addition, check the My Disney Experience mobile app for the times.
At Disney Springs, come to Once Upon A Toy to meet the big guy! There is a Disney PhotoPass photographer available to take photos. Since this is an indoor experience, masks are required for ages 2 and up and the interaction is socially distanced for safety.
This year, there is a virtual queue available to meet Santa Claus. Join the queue using the My Disney Experience app at either 9:00 am or 4:00 pm. To join the virtual queue, click on the “Virtual Queues” option in the My Disney Experience mobile app. Select the Disney Spring tab and then “Join Virtual Queue”. Keep in mind – to join this queue, you must be in Disney Springs. You will be able to see your wait time and your group.
Currently, Santa Claus meets from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm each day. Starting on December 15 through December 24, 2021, he will be meeting from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm.
Keep in mind that these opportunities are for a limited time! Of course, Santa Claus is very busy for the big night and has to head back to the North Pole to get ready!
