New Transportation Option Coming to Walt Disney World Resort

| | |

The start of the new year brings an end to Disney’s Magical Express. This transportation option that brought guests back and forth between Disney resort hotels and the Orlando International Airport comes to an end on December 31, 2021. However, there are still plenty of ways to ensure your smooth travels during your vacation.  Another new transportation option is coming to the Walt Disney World Resort.

Earlier this year, the Mears Connect was announced as one option for airport transportation to and from the Walt Disney World Resort. In addition to Mears Connect, the Sunshine Flyer will soon be available.

This themed motor coach will transport guests from the Orlando International Airport to Walt Disney World Resort hotels. The Sunshine Flyer includes busses that are themed around old-fashioned passenger cars and train engines. Guests will have a magical start to their vacation from the moment they arrive in Orlando. The bus designs and staff dressed in the 1920s railway attire offer guests a unique travel experience. It’s like stepping back in time for a peek at 1920s rail travel!

Transportation Management Services (TMS) has 25 years of experience as a large events transportation company. The buses will serve all of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels. In addition, all buses will include a bathroom, USB chargers, and three-point seatbelts for safety.

Prior to travel, guests book their tickets online and receive a QR code they will scan once they arrive in Orlando. The service is set to begin on February 1, 2022.

Tickets for the Sunshine Flyer must be booked at least four days prior to arrival. Tickets are $17 per adult and $12.50 per child each way. Children under age 2 are free.

The 50th Anniversary Celebration

In honor of the 50th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort, the Sunshine Flyer is giving back! During the first 50 days of business, the Sunshine Flyer will donate 50% of all revenue from the first 50,000 passengers to Make-A-Wish Central & Northern Florida. In addition, all Make-A-Wish children and their families will indefinitely receive complimentary service from the Sunshine Flyer for their Disney wishes.
