Disney Castaway Cay is Disney’s private island located in the Bahamas. This destination has so much to offer guests during their visit including snorkeling, a water play area, character interactions, a buffet lunch, and more. This is your complete guide to Disney Castaway Cay.
What is Disney Castaway Cay?
Disney Castaway Cay is a private island in the Bahamas available to guests who sail with Disney Cruise Line. The island is a favorite for many guests as it features gorgeous crystal-blue water and everything guests need for a day in paradise. Throughout the year, Disney ships that sail out of Miami and Port Canaveral visit the island including the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy. Some sailings even have what is referred to as a “double-dip” – two visits to Disney Castaway Cay in one sailing.
Unlike some locations where the ship has to be tendered, guests have easy access to get off and on the ship during their visit. In addition, there are trams available to help navigate the island.

Whether you are a novice or a pro, you will love exploring the crystal-clear waters of the lagoon. You’re likely to find marine life and more, including a Hidden Mickey! The Discover Trail is designed for novices while more experienced snorkelers will love the Explorer Trail.
Head out on the boat of your choice and float along the blue waters of the lagoon with a gorgeous view of the ship in the background. Options include kayaks, paddleboats, aqua trikes, or a stand-up paddleboard.
Gil’s Fins and Boats

This event is open to guests aged 10 and older.
This part of the island is secluded and reserved for adults only. Enjoy an open-air cabana massage or stop at the Castaway Air Bar to grab a frozen drink. Then, put your toes in the sand and enjoy the ocean breeze!
Stop by She Sells Sea Shells…And Everything Else to check out exclusive beachwear, hats, souvenirs, and more! There are also some other shops on the island selling beachwear, hats, etc.
