Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village is a deluxe villa resort and Disney Vacation Club property located near Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. The resort is a short walk away from Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge so it is easy to share amenities and have even more dining, pools, and fun to take advantage of during your vacation! This resort is so unique, with opportunities to see African animals roaming the savannas. Although it is a bit further away from some of the theme parks compared to other deluxe villas, it is a must-do because there is no other resort like it!

Resort Overview

This resort opened in 2009 and is located right next to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. The two resorts share many amenities, as it is a short walk between them, and they also have similar decor. However, Kidani Village has a significantly smaller lobby and quaint feel. Go here to find one of the best restaurants at the Walt Disney World Resort – Sanaa. In addition, it is home to many African animals including zebra, giraffes, and more, which can be seen roaming around the savannas.

Reasons We Love This Resort:

Unique Theme: This resort offers such a unique experience when you stay here. Where else can you wake up in the morning and look out to see African animals roaming the savanna? If you do not have a savanna view room, there are plenty of opportunities throughout the resort to see these animals too. Be sure to stop at the front desk to grab a viewing guide.

Dining: There are some amazing restaurants at this resort. From savanna views to signature dining experiences, there is something for every palate.

Spacious: The villas offer space with options for large travel parties. Villas with 1 or more bedrooms also include a full kitchen and laundry in the unit. This resort is a great place to enjoy a home away from home!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village features 458 rooms of varying sizes, with accommodations for every party size. There are studios and several types of villas, including those with views of one of the savannas. Each unit includes standard amenities such as a TV, WiFi, coffee maker, telephone, hairdryer, and more. In units with at least one bedroom, there is a washer and dryer in the unit as well as a full kitchen. The studios feature a kitchenette area with a mini-fridge. There is plenty of storage in each unit including dressers and closets.

Sanaa

Enjoy a meal with African cooking and Indian flavors as you watch the animals roam the Sunset Savanna. This restaurant is available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. No reservations are required for breakfast but are highly recommended for lunch and dinner.

Sanaa Lounge

Inspired by the spice markets of Africa, this lounge is an inviting spot to sip on specialty drinks and South African wines before or after dinner. As you sip, be sure to head outside and enjoy views of the savanna.

Maji Pool Bar

This pool bar offers a perfect spot to grab a sip including cocktails, wine, beer, as well as beverages for all ages. There are also sandwiches, salads and snacks to enjoy poolside.

Jiko – The Cooking Place

Get transported to the heart of Africa with rich flavors, woodburning ovens, and South African wines. The menu features a tasty blend of dishes with African, Indian, and Mediterranean cuisine. Advance reservations are highly recommended and there is a dress code at this signature dining experience.

Cape Town Lounge & Wine Bar

Located near Jiko – The Cooking Place, this intimate lounge is the perfect spot to sample South African wines. There are appetizers and wine pairings available, along with a full bar.

Boma – Flavors of Africa

This restaurant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge resembles an African marketplace and features all-you-care-to-enjoy buffets at breakfast and dinner. Reservations are highly recommended.

The Mara

This quick-service location is located at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. Whether you want to grab and-go snacks or to sit and eat, this is the perfect spot to grab breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Victoria Falls Lounge

Enjoy a variety of beverages from South Africa before or after dinner at this lounge located in the lobby of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. Overlooking the Boma restaurant, relax with a choice of South African wines as you enjoy the fire pit outside at this perfect spot for a sip before or after dinner.

Uzima Springs Pool Bar

Enjoy a refreshing beverage with your choice of cocktails, frozen drinks, and more. Then, sit poolside and enjoy the views of the nearby Arusha Savanna. This pool bar is located at nearby Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.

 

Pools, Grounds, & Recreation

Pools

The feature pool at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village is the Samawati Springs Pool. It features a 128-foot waterslide built into the rocks and zero-depth entry. There is a lounge and bar nearby serving drinks and snacks.

At Uwanja Camp, kids can enjoy a water playground with 3 different zones for kids of all ages. The Observation Station is great for little ones with a bubbling geyser and cargo crates to climb on! Departure Zone includes a leaky water tower and African irises that squirt and at the Base Camp, kids can spray each other with water cannons.

The Uzima Springs Pool is located just a short walk away at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. This pool is surrounded by large canopy trees and features a zero-depth entry and a 67-footlong waterslide.

Complimentary towels are provided at both pools.

Tennis

There are two lit hard courts and water fountains, located in the sports courts area.

Pool Tables

There is a complimentary pool table found inside the Community Hall.

Community Hall

At the Community Hall, enjoy ping-pong, video games, and billiards. You can also sign out tennis racquets, basketballs, shuffleboard equipment, and grilling items.

Basketball Courts

There is a half-court near the shuffleboard and tennis courts. Basketballs are available to sign out from the Community Hall.

Movies Under the Stars

Watch your favorite Disney films on the movie lawn, located by the Samawati Springs Pool. Check with the front desk for a complete schedule.

Safari So Good Arcade

With a variety of games for all ages, there is something for everyone at this arcade. You can race cars, play your favorite sports, have a dance-off, and more. You can go head-to-head with a friend or family member or just try for your own high score.

Game cards must be purchased to play. Game points are added using cash or a credit card and the game cards are rechargeable. In addition, these game cards can be used at other Walt Disney World Resort arcades.

Kidani Village Campfire Activities

As the sun goes down, it’s the perfect time to gather around the campfire! There is plenty of family fun waiting as you listen to stories in a savanna setting, complete with marshmallows for roasting.

While staying at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village, you may be wondering how you can get to each park using the free transportation systems offered at Walt Disney World. We have it broken down for you:

  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios: There are free resort buses that offer transportation to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. These buses run approximately every 20 minutes from the resort until an hour after the park closes.
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom: There are free resort buses that offer transportation to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. These buses run approximately every 20 minutes from the resort until an hour after the park closes.

Parking

*Guests who drive either their own vehicle or a rental car to Walt Disney World should know that a standard overnight self-parking fee of $25 per night will be applied to the guest hotel folio upon check-out. Valet parking is available for $33 per night. Complimentary standard self-parking is available while you enjoy select dining, shopping, entertainment, and recreation experiences at this resort.
