This morning Magic Kingdom has had a magical makeover to the Christmas season. But, that wasn’t the only place to see some holiday cheer!

The construction of the famous Grand Floridian Resort and Spa gingerbread house has already begun!

Everything from the gingerbread shingles to the custom hand-painted character windows show the love that goes into this fabulous gingerbread house. This year the display may look a little different from last year. But, we are very excited to see just what the progress will be!

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa hosts an incredible indoor gingerbread display. Beginning back in 1999 the resort began to bring the giant gingerbread house to the lobby of the resort. The delightfully smelling house consists of 1050lbs of honey, 140 pints of egg whites, 600lbs of powdered sugar, 700lbs of chocolate, 800lbs of flour, 35lbs of spices, and a little bit of pixie dust!

Generally, the house is completed by the second week of November! We can’t wait for the grand opening and to see what this year’s house will reveal.
