Top Restaurants for a Walt Disney World Date Night

| | |

Whether you took an adults-only trip, you have childcare back at the room, or you’re a local; there are some exquisite dining options on property to have a romantic date night at Walt Disney World.

When people think about visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, a family vacation is typically the first thing that comes to mind. However, many opportunities are available for adults to enjoy a date night at some pretty amazing restaurants throughout the resort. This list includes just a few of our favorites!

Cinderella’s Royal Table

Cinderella's Royal Table

While you might think there is no way Cinderella Royal Table is suitable for a date night, just follow me for a second! What hopeless romantic, or Disney lover, wouldn’t want to have a date in Cinderella’s Castle? Like a few options on this list, it is a signature dining experience. This is one of the most expensive in-park dining experiences, but I think it’s worth it. The space is small, which makes the restaurant feel more intimate, and there are these large windows that look out into Fantasyland. Not only is the view gorgeous, but the way the light shines into the room is beautiful. Chandelier lighting, stained glass windows, beautiful tables and chairs, and colorful royal flags make for a beautiful setting – and of course, let’s not forget about the stairwell leading guests to this magical place

The bottom line is that it’s a breathtaking area. When you enter, you are put in a line to meet Cinderella, and a PhotoPass photographer is there to take a photo of each group. These photos are included with your meal and will appear in the My Disney Experience app to download. Once upstairs and seated, Princesses seem to be just about everywhere! Snow White, Jasmine, Aurora, Rapunzel, and Ariel ar among the princesses you’ll see while dining.  On the rare occasion, the Fairy Godmother and even Prince Charming have popped in!

Le Cellier Steakhouse

Le Cellier Steakhouse

Le Cellier Steakhouse is located in the Canada Pavillion in Epcot. Literally translating to “the cellar”, there are no windows in this underground restaurant. Ambient lighting creates an intimate setting. Stone arches add to the authentic feel of dining in an underground treasure trove of fine wines. The vibe is elegant and reminiscent of a chateau-style hotel. With romantic candle sconces throughout, this restaurant offers a delicious array of options. Whether it’s the poutine fries or one of the signature entrees, your palate will not be disappointed. Furthermore, the intimate setting of this signature dining experience is perfect for a date night out.

Le Cellier Steakhouse

The signature dish is the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup. Accompanied by the delicious assortment of breadsticks that are brought to your table, it’s the perfect start to a memorable meal. While steak is the focus, the menu offers many savory bites! And for a sweet ending to any meal, save room for maple crème brûlée or one of our other decadent desserts! They also boast a vast collection of Canadian wine, chosen from the vintages displayed in glass and wood cases surrounding the restaurant’s intimate interior.

Narcoossees Disney World

Narcoossee is found at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. The resort itself is worth a date night but the ambiance and menu at Narcoossee is worth a quick walk, boat ride, or monorail ride from the Magic Kingdom. This waterfront restaurant is known for its spectacular seafood, with choices from the local and worldwide waters. Since the restaurant sits right on the water, you take in the panoramic views of the Seven Seas Lagoon while you eat your meal. If you time it right, you can then listen as the music is piped into the restaurant and the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom begin.

For land-based fare, savor options like Prime New York Strip and the Dry-Aged Pork Ribeye. Or, enjoy the best of both worlds with a surf-and-turf dish that features Filet Mignon and a Butter-Poached Lobster Tail. And for a perfect ending to any feast, treat yourself to the pastry chef’s sumptuous signature dessert—Almond-Crusted Cheesecake with Lambert Cherry Sauce. This might be too good to share (I would get two).

California Grill

California Grill Disney's Contemporary Resort, Walt Disney World

The California Grill is a signature dining experience located on the 15th floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort. This award-winning restaurant features an array of cuisine celebrating the Golden State – from sushi to brick oven pizza! There are also over 300 hand-picked wines to choose from, most of which come directly from California. The vibe and the view are perfect for a date night.

Plus, when it comes time for the fireworks, the lights are dimmed and the music is piped in. You may also head to the lounge or the observation deck to enjoy the show. Better yet, book a “Celebration at the Top – Sip, Savor, Sparkle” party for $129 and make it a night you won’t soon forget!

Included is an array of culinary offerings, including sushi, small bites, favorite dishes from the California Grill menu and delectable desserts. Guests ages 21 and over can also enjoy such libations from the complimentary bar as California wine, beers and cordials. As showtime approaches, step out onto the intimate and private observation deck reserved just for Celebration at the Top Guests. Here, you can enjoy an incredible view of the Happily Ever After fireworks spectacular—lighting up the night sky over Magic Kingdom park. The lights will dim as music plays on the deck, so you’ll be immersed in the magic of the night. After the fireworks, head back inside for a flavorful finale—featuring a sweet spread of petit four desserts, cordials and coffee.

This dining experience is family-friendly and great for a date night out. The restaurant is on the ground floor at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village. As you step inside, you are transported to an East African-inspired eatery, sitting under an acacia tree. You will enjoy meats, salads, and more with African cooking and Indian flavors. The bread service is amazing here! You can also choose African wine, a beer from Kenya, or specialty cocktails, along with non-alcoholic choices such as smoothies.

While you dine, take in the sights of the Sunset Savanna. You may see giraffes, zebras, and more as they roam. I suggest even requesting a seat by the window for the best views of the animals that walk by. After your meal, head outside to the viewing area for an even closer look and view the whole savanna.

Topolino’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera

While this restaurant is known for a fun and delicious character breakfast featuring Mickey Mouse and friends, there is also the perfect opportunity for a date in the evening! Dinner with a view at this rooftop dining experience takes you straight to the Riviera. Complete with a menu featuring French and Italian dishes; this restaurant is the perfect setting for a bit of romance. There is also an extensive collection of wine from the Mediterranean coast.

After your meal, don’t forget to head outside to take in the views from the rooftop terrace. It’s a great spot to relax for a bit as you overlook the beautiful Riviera Resort.

The Walt Disney World Resort offers many opportunities for guests of all ages to have a magical time. While this list includes some of our favorites, many other options are perfect for a date night out so don’t be afraid to enjoy that adult time on your trip, or maybe even plan a trip for just the adults!
