5 Reasons to Use a Travel Advisor to Plan Your Trip to Disney

| | |

A travel professional gives you “peace of mind,” in an increasingly unpredictable world. And this year, we can all use a little peace of mind. Just when we think we’d seen the last of the holiday meltdowns, the FAA’s computers go on the blink, freezing air travel nationwide for hours. Travel continues to be complex, a travel advisor will be your best tool in 2023.

I know our travel advisors at Winds in the East Travel will take care of every detail when planning our trips to Disney, Disney Cruise Line, Adventures by Disney, Aulani, Universal, and MORE!

Let’s get into the reasons we will ALWAYS use a travel advisor and why you should too:

5- Travel Advisors Have Your Back

They’re virtually indestructible. Travel advisors working today have been through so much, and made it out the other side stronger, smarter, and essential. Some have been through 9/11, the online travel revolution, and the pandemic. But they are still here going strong!

When the unthinkable happened, hold times were hours long as even the suppliers were trying to figure out how to handle it.  Travel advisors spent those hours on the phone for their clients.  They were the ones fighting for clients to make sure they were taken care of.

When you book with an authorized vacation planner you have the peace of mind that they have your back to get you a refund or the right type of travel insurance to fit your vacation needs. There are hundreds of vacation destinations all over the world. Do you want to take the chance that you book a destination that won’t let you enter due to covid policies? You never have to worry about that with a travel advisor. They will research the location for you before you are quoted to ensure you have nothing to worry about.

4-Travel Advisors Stay Up To Date On Travel Restrictions & Advisories

They’ve learned new tricks and developed new specialties. Also, travel advisors are constantly improving, and their educational journey is continuing in 2023. Remember, travel advisors have survived the lockdowns and travel bans. What did they do during their time off? After helping their clients get refunds, some of them went back to school to become even better at their craft.

They concentrated on learning through training certifications. So their experience and newly acquired knowledge make them better equipped to help travelers achieve their dream trip with the extra safety net of knowing what to do if things go awry during their trip.

One of, if not the most important, benefits of using a travel advisor, is knowing they are on top of all of the details needed for your travel destination. If they don’t know it, they will find it out.  For example, at Walt Disney World, there is a Park Reservation System that has been implemented.  Guests must pick which park they plan to visit in advance. Once that park is at capacity, it doesn’t matter if you have a hotel reservation, you’re not getting in the park!  There are so many new changes that you will want to speak with a travel advisor before you book your trip.

3- Travel Advisors Speak From Experience

When you want to plan a trip to a Disney park, Disney cruise, Adventures by Disney, or Aulani, you’ll connect with a Disney-based travel advisor. One who has graduated from the Disney College of Knowledge courses and maintained the certification each year. Not only do they have the knowledge from the courses, but most travel agents specializing in Disney have a passion for Disney, making them even more knowledgeable.

Many travel advisors have visited most Disney destinations. They can help you determine what hotel will work best for you based on your budget, kids, party size, or whatever priority you have in mind. For instance, you might have a party of five or plan to bring the grandparents. Disney has various resort rooms that can accommodate up to five guests. For larger groups, some of the value resorts have suites that are considered budget-friendly. Meanwhile, deluxe resorts have villas as large as three bedrooms.

Additionally, if you’re planning a cruise, most guests like to pick their room. A travel advisor can help you select a room that doesn’t have an obstructed view or one that works better for your needs.

With new attractions, restaurants, places to stay, and things to do, working with a travel advisor is your best bet to get the most out of your next trip. A travel advisor knowledge will do the work for you while also saving you time and money!

2- Travel Advisors Create Personalized Itineraries

Travel advisors will be providing more curated and personalized trips to their clients than ever before in 2023. There are new programs that allow advisors to know more about their clients and interests and goals when it comes to travel. They have highly sophisticated software that can generate trip itineraries. These itineraries are not just generic documents listing typical tourist attractions, but rather, they take into account the interests and goals of each client and generate a highly personalized and curated itinerary. You’re not going to get that when you book online. That kind of deep personalization is something a website can’t do.

Not only can a travel advisor give you advice from research and training, but they also can speak from first-hand experience traveling in this post-pandemic world. Many travel advisors have been able to travel safely and practice the precautions in airports, resorts, theme parks, and more. If they haven’t traveled firsthand, they can speak to colleagues who have taken tours, visited theme parks, and flown to bring back the most up-to-date information.

1- Travel Advisors Can Save You Time and Money

There is so much to consider when you are planning a trip. Do you know how to book transportation? What transportation is included in your stay? How do I budget for food? Is there food included? What dining is offered? How do I book it? What add-ons or excursions can I do? How do I book those?  Is there still “FastPass?” How do I book that?  These are questions are just the tip of the iceberg when planning a trip.

Using a travel advisor will help you save time and money in planning your trip. They know what needs to get done and when it needs to be done. They can make recommendations and help you create a wonderful vacation.
