They have a Disney degree
Becoming a travel agent, that specializes in Disney isn’t an easy task! Being a fan of Disney isn’t the only requirement. However, working with someone that has such a passion for all things Disney is a huge benefit to you! In most cases, travel agents specializing in Disney spend hours keeping up with the latest news and information. They also test out the resorts and cruise ships for research!
Trust me, there is nothing worse than planning a trip online, only to find out your favorite attraction is closed for refurbishment when you arrive. Booking with someone that is in the know, and can keep you informed of all the latest closures and information, is the only way to ensure that doesn’t happen!
They offer an incredible wealth of knowledge
There are so many options to choose from when booking a resort at Walt Disney World, Disneyland, or stateroom aboard a Disney Cruise Line ship! Where do you even start? How do you choose the best one for you? There are over 25 on-site resorts at Walt Disney World alone and countless other off-property resorts! What is a “Good Neighbor Resort” or a “Disney Springs Resort?” Better yet, what is Disney Springs?
Walt Disney World also has several resorts closed or only partially opened at this time and it is important to know your options. A Disney College of Knowledge trained agent can help you pick out the best resort for you and your family. They are able to work with your budget to customize your whole vacation to find the best resort to fit your needs.
Often times guests assume something is out of their price range without shopping around. With the right planning, the right travel agent will be able to find you exactly what you are looking for. If you are planning with a tight budget, even better! They can assist in helping you find the lowest rates possible to make your Disney dreams come true.

Save time
Some guests know exactly what they are looking for and others have no idea where to start. Either way, planning for a Disney vacation takes HOURS from start to finish. There are some major questions that you need to answer:
- How many days at the parks do we want?
- What type of stateroom do we want?
- What food is included on a Disney Cruise?
- Do we need the Disney Dining Plan?
- Which hotel is close to Magic Kingdom?
- Park hop? Or not?
- Water Parks?
- Is Harry Potter the 5th Disney World resort?
- What rides work for my 4-year-old and where are they?
You can read all the blogs, ebooks, travel guides, ask tons of questions on Facebook moms groups… but still have no idea what you are doing! It’s sometimes very daunting to even consider booking a trip to see the mouse! This is where a travel agent that specialized in Disney comes in handy! They know what you need just by asking some important questions before planning.

Save money
I’m not sure where the misconception came into play that booking with a Disney vacation planner was expensive, but it couldn’t be further from the truth! It doesn’t matter if you book directly through Disney, or with a travel agent, it’s the same price! There is ZERO cost to you for booking with an agent. Not only is it free to you, but it can also save you a lot of money! If you are working with someone that has a fee, keep looking! Our partner travel agency, Winds in the East Travel, LLC doesn’t charge anything to book with them.
Disney releases travel promotions throughout the year. They often change from year to year and have changed drastically over time. Those who remember the days of “FREE Disney Dining” will understand how different the discounts can be these days. A travel agent that specializes in Disney will be able to work with your travel dates to find you the best discount, or find you dates that may be more affordable!
Even better, If you book a package and a promotion is released, your travel agent can still apply the new discount to your package! If you qualify, they will do all the work and get you the better deal. You don’t have to call and spend hours on the phone to have the promotion applied when it is released, your travel agent will do this for you! This is precious time you can spend with your family instead of on hold.

Booking dining reservations
Did you know there are more than 200 places to get food within Walt Disney World, including about 90 full-service restaurants, more than 30 of which are inside the Disney parks! Booking dining can be one of the most stressful parts of vacation planning. Reservations now open up for Walt Disney World 60 days in advance and most character dining experiences book up immediately!
Your agent will book your dining reservations for you. This means getting up at the crack of dawn on your 60-day mark and getting you those hard-to-get dining reservations! If this is something you prefer to do on your own, you will certainly be able to, but who would want to?

Support the whole time
During the planning process, your travel agent will be your main point of contact. You won’t have to call Disney for anything. Your agent will discuss any concerns you have and go over the details with you from start to finish.
Your agent will also be there to support you all the way up until the day you arrive on the property! Once you have checked in, Disney Cast Members take over and will be your next point of contact. But, until then, your travel agent will be the one taking care of your every need.
Make the right choice and book with a travel advisor!
Did you know that you can book a Walt Disney World package with just a $200 deposit? There are also promotions offering discounts on Disney Cruise Line deposits several times a year. Disneyland also offers discounts on rooms often. A travel agent that specializes in Disney gives you all the tools you need to have a successful vacation with your friends and family.
