The Disney Wish, Disney’s newest cruise ship, has passed the first major testing and is on its way to The Netherlands to ensure it is ready for guests!
The Disney Wish recently bid farewell to the Meyer Werft shipyard on its way to open water for the first time, marking the latest milestone after nearly two years of construction.
During the conveyance, the ship travels at an average speed of approximately 2 knots over a distance of 26 miles through small clearings, locks, bridges and barriers on the Ems River, going from Papenburg to Eemshaven, a seaport in The Netherlands.
From there, the ship will undergo sea trials as it makes its final preparations before its voyage across the Atlantic Ocean to Port Canaveral.
Disney Cruise Line had to delay the ship’s maiden voyage until July 14, 2022.
