Starting in September, Disneyland Park will begin selling alcoholic beverages at ALL of it’s lunch/dinner table service restaurants for the first time in park history. According to Disney, Carnation Café, River Belle Terrace, & Café Orleans will introduce brand new beverage options, including wine, beer, & specialty cocktails to their menus beginning on Sept. 12th, 2023.
For over 60 years of Disneyland’s history, alcoholic beverages were not sold at any public establishment (the private & ultra-exclusive Club 33 started by Walt Disney himself being the lone exception for alcohol availability) inside the park. “No liquor, no beer, no nothing,” Walt was quoted as saying in regards to public alcoholic availability inside his park.
However, that all changed in 2018, when Disney announced plans to offer alcoholic beverages inside Oga’s Cantina at the grand opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Upon opening in May of 2019, Oga’s Cantina marked the first public sale of alcohol inside Walt Disney’s original Magic Kingdom, Disneyland.
Just two years later, in April of 2021, Disney began the sale of alcoholic beverages inside one of it’s four (public) lunch/dinner table service restaurants: the expensive & hard-to-get Blue Bayou Restaurant.
Now, beginning in September of 2023, all four (public) lunch/dinner table service restaurants as well Oga’s Cantia inside Disneyland Park will sell alcoholic beverages, marking a swift change from the first 64 years of the Park’s existence. Disneyland officials did state that there are currently no plans to introduce alcoholic beverages at quick service locations within Disneyland Park, so it’s just the four table service locations & Oga’s Cantina for any alcohol-drinkers coming to Disneyland in the years to come.
Of course, most table service & quick service locations at the neighboring Disney California Adventure Park currently sell alcohol, as well as multiple locations throughout the Downtown Disney District & the three Disney Hotels.
As for the specific new drink offerings announced by Disney for the three restaurants:
- River Belle Terrace – Wildberry Mule for lunch & dinner
- Café Orleans – Pimm’s Hurricane for lunch & dinner
- Carnation Café – Bloody Mary & Mimosa options for breakfast, & Peach Pie Margarita for lunch & dinner
All three locations, along with Blue Bayou & Oga’s Cantina, will also offer beer & wine along with the specialty drinks, as well.
