You’ve decided to purchase Disney Genie+ for your upcoming visit. Now what? This article explores how to prioritize your Disneyland Resort (DLR) Genie+ selections.
Choosing Your Disney Genie+ Attractions
At the Disneyland Resort, Disney Genie+ works slightly differently than the Walt Disney World Resort. Like Walt Disney World, you may add it in advance with your ticket purchase for the length of your visit. Alternatively, if you are a Magic Keyholder or choose not to add it in advance, you may purchase it the same day.
Unlike Walt Disney World, guests do not select their first return time starting at 7:00 am. Guests must enter the park before selecting their attractions. In addition, not all attractions are included with the Disney Genie+ Service. Often, the attractions that are included are readily available for return times.

First Priority Genie+ Selections
At Disneyland Park, the first priority selections include:
- Space Mountain
- Indiana Jones Adventure
- Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
These attractions are likely to run out of return times sooner than the second-priority attractions.
Second Priority Genie+ Selections
The second priority attractions are those attractions that rarely run out of return times. These attractions may also have shorter standby wait times early in the day or late in the evening.

First Priority Genie+ Selections
At Disney Calfornia Adventure, three attractions are considered first priority. These include:
- IncrediCoaster
- Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!
- Web Slingers: A Spiderman Adventure
Like the attractions at Disneyland Park, these tend to run out of return times sooner than the other attractions.
Second Priority Genie+ Selections
Several attractions at Disney California Adventure are considered a second priority. These rarely run out of return times. In addition, they are good options early in the day or late in the evening.
More Tips & Tricks
There are a few more tips to consider as you plan your day with the Disney Genie+ Service:
1.) If you plan to purchase Individual Lightning Lane attractions, these should always be purchased first.
2.) Second-priority attractions are good to ride at the beginning of the day using the standby line when the crowds are still low. Then, if you want to do them again later, you can use Disney Genie+ to do so.
3.) At the Disneyland Resort, several attractions are not included with the purchase of Disney Genie+. This is especially the case at Disneyland Park. Watch these attractions’ wait times and work them between return times.
4.) Things change all the time! If you are trying to get a specific attraction but do not like the return times, keep trying! Keep refreshing your app, as available times may change frequently.
