Now it’s time to say goodbye… On September 30th, 2019 the nearly 20 year run of IllumiNations Reflections of Earth will come to an end. IllumiNations Reflections of Earth has been a nighttime water spectacular that has become a staple at Epcot since October 1999 when it was revealed as part of the Millennium Celebration at Walt Disney World.
Guests gather around World Showcase Lagoon to watch Earth’s fiery birth portrayed through dramatic eruptions of fireworks and towering 60-foot flames. As the volcanic effects subside, a giant 350,000-pound globe glides peacefully across the waters.
In 2020 Disney will reveal the official replacement for the Epcot nighttime water show. The show will feature massive floating set pieces, custom-built LED panels, choreographed fountains, lights, pyrotechnics, and lasers. The yet-unnamed show will celebrate how Disney music inspires people around the world.
We will be on hand for the final farewell of the show as well as the new “Epcot Forever” interim nighttime show that will take its place. The new show will feature special effect kites, fireworks, lasers, music, and other choreographed special effects.
