READY, SET, GO! On Monday, RunDisney shared pictures of the medals for the upcoming 2024 Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend. If you are like me, nothing is more exciting than the anticipated medal drop of an upcoming race weekend! It’s a peek into what the weekend theming and race swag will look like. This weekend is special because it is the first Disneyland race weekend since 2017.

The Disneyland Half Marathon will be from Thursday to Sunday, January 11th, 2024, to January 14th, 2024. The weekend events include the Health & Fitness Expo (Thursday-Saturday), Yoga (Thursday), 5K (Friday), a 10K (Saturday), Half Marathon (Sunday), and Kids Races (Saturday). There is also a challenge that includes the 10K, the Half Marathon, and virtual races! This will truly be a magical weekend!

5K Medal

The medal for the 5K is giving all the retro vibes! It has Pluto, Sleeping Beauty Castle, and palm trees! I love the teal and lime green combo and everyone’s favorite dog, Pluto! Maybe the shirt will match the theme and be teal or lime green!

10K Medal

The 10K medal has the sassy duck duo, Donald & Daisy! It has three different shades of blue and a light yellow on the main design. Donald & Daisy are sporting their best athletic gear including Daisy’s sneakers and high ponytail! The medal also features the Castle and the yellow stars look like fireworks! This would be super cute with a pink shirt, I can’t wait to see the shirt they choose!

Half Marathon Medal

Keeping with the retro theme this medal features our pals Mickey & Minnie! The medal itself is a golden letter D, with 2024 on it. Then it has a color version of Sleeping Beauty Castle, with Mickey and Minnie running in the front! Their outfits complement each other and are almost opposites in terms of colors. This medal looks the most “3D” because of the layering. This is another medal I am so excited for! It also looks like it will pair well with the 10K medal, which will be good for all the challenge finishers who like to sport their medals in the parks! 

Dumbo Double Dare Challenge Medal

My favorite medal of the series! I love that this medal is giving retro circus vibes. It showcases Dumbo happily waving a Disneyland flag and includes all the colors of the previous medals, plus maroon! I love the star “screws” at the top of the medal, and the DDD insignia with the gold crown. The challenge medal can only be earned if you sign up for the challenge and complete both the 10K and Half Marathon! After 19.3 miles over two days, I will be as happy as Dumbo when I get this medal!
