More Details Released for Upcoming ‘Rogers: The Musical’ at Disney California Adventure

| | |

In early April of this year, Disney announced a brand new Avengers-themed show coming to the Hyperion Theatre at Disney California Adventure for the summer, titled ‘Rogers: The Musical.’ Today, we finally received more details on the show including dates, how to see it, accompanying foods in celebration of the show, and much more.

For a detailed explanation of what ‘Rogers: The Musical” will be, check out our previous post on the announcement here.

WHAT ARE THE TIMES & DATES?

As for the specific dates of the upcoming 30-minute show, Disney announced that ‘Rogers: The Musical’ be a limited-run release, playing from June 30th until August 31st. It will run four times a day most weeks from Tuesday-Saturday, taking a break on Sunday’s & Monday’s. There are a few select days in mid-July where the show will not run. The showtimes for most Tuesday’s-Saturday’s are: 12:30pm, 2:00pm, 4:00pm, & 5:30pm. It’s important to note that these times (& days) can change at any time, per Disney.

HOW CAN I SEE IT?

There are 3 different ways a guest at Disney California Adventure can experience the Avengers show – via a dining package, a virtual queue, or standby (walk-up).

The easiest guaranteed way to see the show is by purchasing a Rogers: The Musical Premium Viewing Experience. This package will be able at the Studio Catering Co. Truck in Hollywood Land, & includes a themed popcorn bucket (with red, white, & blue kettle corn), a non-alcoholic drink of your choosing, lounge-seating near Stage 12 before the show, a souvenir lanyard, priority access to a special PhotoPass opportunity, and, best of all, priority seating at Hyperion Theatre for the show. The price for this Premium Viewing Experience is $29 per person, and will allow guests first access to the theater up to 30 minutes before the start of the show. This Premium Viewing Experience will be available until it’s sold out for the day OR until 90 minutes before the final show-time of the day (which means 4:00pm on most days).

The second (& still guaranteed) way to see ‘Rogers: The Musical’ is by utilizing a Virtual Queue. According to Disney, two Virtual Queue releases will be made available each day, one at 10:30am and the other at 2:00pm. Both are available only via the Disneyland App. It’s important to note that park-hopping does not begin until 11:00am, meaning guests who begin their day at Disney California Adventure will have a head-start on the 10:30am Virtual Queue drop. If you do land a Virtual Queue for the show, your time slot will be automatically assigned to you, & you will be called back to the theatre between 30-45 minutes before the show begins.

The third (& only non-guaranteed) way to view Capt. America himself dance the night away with his friends is via standby, or walk-up. According to Disney, Virtual Queue’s are NOT required and there will be a standby queue allocated for each show-time. The standby queue will open 45 minutes before show-time & is open to any guests in the park, but the standby queue does not guarantee access to the show, nor does it guarantee any preferred seating.

WHAT ABOUT THE SNACKS!?

As for the celebratory foods coming to Disney California Adventure in honor of ‘Rogers: The Musical,’ the list is plentiful. Throughout the 2+ month run-time of the show, guests will be able to purchase “patriotic and heroically-themed food & beverages” throughout the park. These include:

  • Red, White, & Blue Shake (Vanilla Shake with Wild Cherry & Blue-Raspberry)
  • Shawarm-izza (Italian Sausage, Pepperoni, Mozzarella, & Pepperoncini in a Garlic-Parm Wrap)
  • Patriotic Punch (Sprite and White Cranberry Juice with Blue Raspberry & Cherry Syrup)
  • Like an Apple Pizza Pie (Cinnamon-Sugar Pizza Crust with Apple & Cranberry Filling)
  • Patriotic Pastrami Pretzel Dog
  • Cap’n Everything Dog (Hot Dog Wrapped in Pizza Dough Coated in Everything-Bagel Seasoning)
  • Before-mentioned Red, White, & Blue Kettle & Caramel Corn

There are still a few details to be released later by Disney, but this gives us nearly the whole picture for what to expect at Disney California Adventure this summer in celebration of ‘Rogers: The Musical.’ The superheroes are about ready to take the big stage!
