New Country Bear Musical Jamboree to Debut Summer 2024 at Magic Kingdom

| | |

Country Bear fans, rejoice! The brand new “Country Bear Jamboree” announced at last year’s Destination D23 officially has it’s opening timeframe! The iconic Frontierland show at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom will debut it’s new version of the show in the “Summer of 2024.”

Guests hoping to say a final goodbye to the current Jamboree will have a few more weeks to see the show, as the bears will run in their current format until their final day of operation on January 26th, 2024. The attraction will officially close for refurbishment on January 27th, 2024 to make way for the new iteration of the melodic animals.

The new show will debut some 5-7 months later and will be known as “Country Bear Musical Jamboree.” According to Disney, the new show “pays homage to the Opry style shows of Nashville” and will “include Easter Eggs” from the current version of the Country Bears, which has been operating since the opening day of Magic Kingdom over 52 years ago. One of the Easter Eggs will be a “familiar tune fans may remember” alongside “new, reinterpreted Disney tunes,” all sung by the beloved cast of animatronic bears. The new version of the show will feature multiple different genres of country music, including pop-country, rockabilly, and more.

During the initial announcement of the new show in September of 2023, Disney Imagineers stated that the country bears “will be reinterpreting favorite Disney songs” upon the new iteration’s debut in 2024. “Country Bear Musical Jamboree” will still feature the same famous characters, according to Disney, such as Big Al, Trixie, and others.

“Country Bear Musical Jamboree” is just one piece of the larger Frontierland overhaul coming to the world’s most visited theme park. The Magic Kingdom is set to receive “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure” in late 2024, a full-scale re-reimagining of the former Splash Mountain attraction.

Disney has also teased even more coming to the land, stating that they “have a lot of growth and investment planned for our theme parks in the coming years.” The company stated they “look forward to sharing more announcements about Frontierland… so y’all come back now, ya hear?” These Frontierland-teases from Disney follow an increasing trend of blue sky concept art & ideas for “Frontierland & beyond Big Thunder Mountain” from Imagineers & Disney Parks & Experiences head Josh D’Amaro, though no concrete plans have been shared for that area as of now.

More details on the new show & reimagined land, including an exact opening date for the Country Bears, will be released by Disney over the coming months. Check back here at to stay up-to-date with the latest Disney theme park news!
