Seuss Landing at Universal Orlando

| | |

Today would have been Dr. Seuss’s 116th birthday and to celebrate we are going to give you a rundown of all the fun things there are to do in Seuss Landing at the Universal Orlando Resort in Islands of Adventure!

Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known by his pen name Dr. Seuss, published over 60 books in his lifetime. Back in 1937 he published his first children’s book, And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street, under the name of Dr. Seuss. After that, a string of bestsellers, including The Cat in the Hat and Green Eggs and Ham created rhymes and characters that were beloved by generations of fans.

Inside Island of Adventure you will find Seuss Landing offering attractions and merchandise designed for preschool-age children(and adults too.) The attractions are based on some of Dr. Seuss’s more popular books including The Cat in the Hat, If I Ran the Zoo, Green Eggs and Ham, One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish and others.

Inside Seuss Landing, you will find something for everyone! The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride is a personal favorite! (Think People Mover from Magic Kingdom) The trolley takes you on a rooftop ride around Seuss Landing. Another ride you may find fun is the Caro-Seuss-el. This is a traditional merry-go-round dressed up with Dr. Seuss characters. It’s very cute and a great photo opp!

If you are looking for a ride where you might get a little wet, but not much, One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish is perfect! This is much like the Aladdin or Dumbo ride at Magic Kingdom. You are lifted up and down in circles while little squirts of water shoot from the center.

If you want a little adventure, but nothing too scary, the Cat in the Hat attraction is just what you are looking for! While the mischief mounts inside the house, The Cat in the Hat™, and Thing One™ and Thing Two™ make quite a mess. There are bumps. And thumps. And things going “crash.” Cautious Mr. Krinklebein reminds us that any minute, Mother will be home. Will you get the house cleaned up in time?

Last but not least, you can relax while the little ones play in “If I Ran the Zoo” play yard. This cute little play area also doubles as a splash pad to cool off! When you’re done playing you can head over to one of the quick service dining spots, either Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-pendous or Green Eggs and Ham Cafe. On your way out grab some candy from Honk Honkers or a huge cotton candy to share!
