Walt Disney World’s EPCOT has been undergoing a great reimagining for a few years now. This reimagining has included new attractions, updated areas, and soon the ‘Walt the Dreamer’ statue.
When these changes were first conceptualized, one aspect that stood out was a statue of Walt Disney. Now, to celebrate the dreamer himself, the ‘Walt the Dreamer’ statue will make its EPCOT debut on Walt’s birthday, December 5th.
While visiting the park, make your way to Dreamers Point in the Worlds Celebration Gardens to catch a glimpse of this impressive statue. It represents Walt Disney in his later years when he was dreaming up the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow park. Unfortunately, Walt never got to see this dream realized as he passed in 1966 and EPCOT first opened in 1982.
Walt Disney’s legacy and dreams live on. And the gardens in the World Celebration area, including Dreamers Point, will all connect to each other, painting an architectural legacy of EPCOT. Guests visiting this area are invited to connect to the surrounding nature and to each other.
The ‘Walt the Dreamer’ statue will make its grand debut at EPCOT on December 5, 2023.
