Top Shoe Choices For The Parks

| | |

Take care of those feet. You don’t want your shoes to ruin your next vacation. Check out our top shoe choices for a day at the parks.

Over the years, the team of Theme Park Professor has put in many miles walking through the theme parks of Orlando, Florida. We have been there on the hottest days hitting the pavement from park opening, to park closing.

One of the worst things you can have to happen while at the park is foot pain. Whether it is from blisters, or just bad support, having the wrong shoe can be a day ender for some. Thanks to our friends over at Key to the World Travel, we have put together some great shoe choices and brands to help you choose the right fit for your next vacation.

When I was compiling this list, I asked for outside help from the experts at Key to the World Travel. They have helped thousands of guests plan trips to Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando. Not only that, they have all been to the parks for long trips with their families and individual trips for research. Who else could make a better pool to get the answers I was looking for?!

Below is a breakdown of suggested shoes, and why they rock, for your next trip to the parks!

Skechers GOwalk Arch Fit-Women

These shoes were the top pick from many agents when asked. As a matter of fact, many said they had several pairs of them! They are extremely lightweight, machine washable, and come in many colors! “Your feet will enjoy those long walks in supportive comfort wearing the Skechers GOwalk Arch Fit® – Grateful shoe. This slip-on style sneaker features an athletic mesh knit upper with removable Arch Fit® insole and a lightweight ULTRA GO® cushioned midsole.”-Skechers website. You can shop them here in over 19 different colors: https://amzn.to/3o4npjL

New Balance Women’s 711 v3 Cross Trainer

This shoe was also a huge suggestion when I reached out to the agents. Not only did it come in a special “Disney” branding at one point, but it also has over 20 different color choices.

A majority of the wearers admired how comfortable the New Balance 711 v3 Mesh Trainer was for long periods of wear. The fit is true to size and width and there are wide-width options. They are stylish and are avalible in various colors. The trainers are praised for their performance during long walks, runs, and workouts at the gym. Super lightweight and work with custom orthotics and ankle-foot orthosis (AFO) braces. You can shop them here in over 19 different colors: https://amzn.to/2KGzDRf

Teva Sandals- Men & Women

Every foot is different and sneakers don’t work for everyone. Teva sandals are also one of the most suggested footwear options when we polled the agents. The great thing about these, is they come in many different styles and are for men and women. Teva pioneered the sport-sandal category. Made for rivers, in canyons, and across the trails of the great outdoors, they are the perfect fit for a long day at the parks.

You can shop both men and women here: https://amzn.to/2KO06Mw

Brooks Running Shoes For Men & Women

Brooks makes comfortable shoes for men and women. We have several votes for their “Ghost” brand. They boast being the perfect shoe for runners looking for a reliable shoe that’s soft and smooth. There is a lot of cushioning! More so than any other shoe we have tried. They also have a ton of options and colors. You can shop for them here: https://amzn.to/3mWUBIA

Crocs- Men, Women, and Kids!

Love them, or hate them… Crocs are one of the top options for many families at the parks. There is a reason Disney hopped on the Croc bandwagon and began creating special designs for nearly every new release. They come in slide-on sandals or the everyday clog style. They have a “4-wheel-drive” setting(pulling the strap back) that keeps them secure while you are on an attraction at the park. They are water-proof so they make a great option when going from the park to the pool. They have every color imaginable and also offer over 30 designs just for Disney! You can also get little characters to pop in the holes and add a little more flare. You can shop Crocs anywhere they are avalible: shopDisney, Amazon, and on the Crocs website.

Birkenstock For Men & Women:

Birk’s have been around for a long, long time! They are not for everyone, but they are one of the top choices for sandals or slide-on shoes when you go to the parks. The best part, is they form to your foot almost like a glove. The cork bottom is cushioned and they come in a ton of colors. As for most of these shoes, they are pricey. But, most high-quality footwear is! You can shop the Birkenstock site HERE

Finishing Up:

All in all, every person is different. You have no idea what will work for you until you try it for yourself. Our list was made to help you narrow down your search and give you a few options that are at the top of our list.

The most important thing is to remember to wear your shoes at home and break them in before you attempt a trip to the park. Make sure you bring backup options in case they get wet or you get a blister. Bring bandaids and antibiotic cream for days when you need padding or to fix a boo-boo!
